Brief Historical Summary:
The home was born through the efforts of Architect Gregorio Sanches Barba, who consulted with the Bishop Jose Trinidad Sepulveda to resolve what group would take charge of the project. They decide on the Congregation de Religiosas Franciscanas de Nuestra Señora del Refugio, a Mexican NGO.
The congregation accepted Gregorio’s project, a project inspired by God that would focus his attention on the elderly and respond to the fundamental focus of “compassion and mercy towards the most needy”, which has been the basis of our labor within the church and society.
The construction of the premise began in November of 2007, under the legal supervision of Instituto Medico Social de Refugio, A.C.
